Karina Serrano Pérez is the Director of Curriculum for Advancing Students Forward (ASF) and a Bilingual elementary teacher in Chula Vista. She is a proud child of immigrants and from a very young age her parents instilled the love and importance of education. She attended the University of California at Santa Cruz for her BA (Sociology and Leadership), MA in education and Bilingual multiple-subject teaching credential.

With over 21 years of experience in education Karina helps ASF create meaningful leadership and social emotional support lessons for our students in ASF.

Karina’s passion is centered around education for all. She believes that creating opportunities for everyone to have access to education is key to an individual’s success and well-being. Which in turn will have a positive impact in an individual’s family and community.
