On Saturday June 7, 2014 seven members of Advancing Students Forward were given the opportunity to volunteer at the International Friendship Games in Chula Vista, CA. The games took place at Mater Dei High School where athletes from both sides of the U.S./Mexico border participated. Games are organized by Councilman Rudy Ramirez and are attended by hundreds of people. Athletes participated in cycling, basketball, soccer, softball, chess and even Zumba! The ASF students welcomed the participants, helped them get oriented, distributed T-shirts, water and bracelets that entitled each athlete to lunch. It was an event enjoyed by all.
